Kodaline Have 'High Hopes' - And A Rather Good Video Too!
Kodaline, the hotly-tipped quartet included in the BBC Sound of 2013 long list – will release their new EP, 'The High Hopes EP,' on March 18. This precedes their debut album 'In A Perfect World' which follows a week later.
Having previously debuted two tracks from the EP – a stripped back, acoustic cover of the LCD Soundsystem song 'All My Friends' as well as 'The Answer' that was premiered late last year –'High Hopes' finds the band at their most brilliantly anthemic, as a delicate piano intro slowly builds before bursting into life on a wave of crashing drums, echoing guitar lines and Steve Garrigan’s heartfelt vocal.
The video for 'High Hopes,' directed by Stevie Russell who directed the video for the band’s track 'All I Want' and which features Irish actor Liam Cunningham – currently starring in Game Of Thrones - can be seen above.
Having played a series of sold out shows in November, the band will embark on a UK tour in February, including an NME Awards show.
