Named after a Guided by Voices song, Goldheart Assembly formed in 2008 through a love of harmonic, British pop music and not, as a bizarre internet rumour has it, whilst working as zookeepers at Whipsnade Wild Animal Park.

The release of their debut album was followed by shows with the likes of Black Mountain and Low Anthem while their own headline shows culminated in a sold-out performance at London’s Scala in April 2011. The start of 2011 also saw them play their first U.S shows, including a slot at that year’s SxSW Festival and make a high-profile appearance on the Last Call with Carson Daly TV show.

Beginning 'Long Distance Song Effects' in 2011, the album was shaped over a period of two years as the 25 tracks they initially recorded in London were gradually whittled down between trips back and forth to Lucerne where they recorded with Swiss musician/producer Tobi Gmur, who they’d met on an earlier European tour.

Goldheart Assembly will be shortly announcing a UK headline tour.

Goldheart Assembly are: Jake Bowser (keyboards, vocals), James Dale (lead vocals, bass), Nicky Francis (drums, vocals), Kyle Hall (guitar) and John Herbert (lead vocals, guitar).
