East End Live 13.7.13 :: Niqab
In the run-up to East End Live, the one day music festival taking place at various venues in East London on July 13, we are dipping into a short selection of just a few of the 60 artists taking part, with a little sample taster of what they are about.
Here we catch up with Edgar Smith from up-and-coming Niqab.
Description: Second only live show for the London psych outfit whose name comes from an item of veiled headgear.
How are you feeling about playing East End Live?
It was the first show we were offered, so it's prompted us to get our live show together which is good. We're very grateful to be a small part of such a great line up. Seeing as festivals, especially 'boutique' London ones, have reached a kind of nightmarish saturation point and are mostly very lame, it's heartening to play one that's independent and ambitious, and actually seems to be about something.
Favourite song from your set on 13th?
'She's So Alright'
Niqab play Catch at 6pm.
