Fast rising Buckinghamshire quartet As Elephants Are were formed in 2011, and soon picked up on with their debut single ‘War Cry’ last year, reaching the ears of Huw Stephens and Mary-Anne Hobbs, Xfm and Amazing Radio. They furthered thus with follow-up double A side ‘Lucifer’/‘Youth Blood’
Having just played the BBC Introducing stage at Reading and Leeds festivals, the band have both a further crop of live dates upcoming - see below - as well as the release of their third single, the very shimmering 'Crystal'.
Whilst previous releases took on more of a moody bent, 'Crystal', in contrast, is as light and effervescent as its name may suggest. Backed with some soaring guitar riffs and Rob Waters' relentless drum beats, over which Ben Stratford lends an immediately easy vocal accompaniment, it's as radio friendly and summer cool as you can get.
