Winnipeg’s Les Jupes roots lay in British post-punk and American folk. Their debut album 'Modern Myths' straddled some imaginary line between noise and pop, cascading layers of sound upon peculiar songs with peculiar characters.
'Negative Space' was recorded with Imaginary Cities’ Rusty Matyas and Weakerthans’ engineer Cam Loeppky in Winnipeg during the spring of 2013. These are the first four 4 of over 30 new songs they’ve written since their debut. A new full-length with Montreal’s burgeoning hero Marcus Paquin (The National, Stars, Little Scream, Local Natives) is expected next year.
