Chris Preston is a new Bath-based singer/songwriter. 'Bridges' is the first official release from the 18-year-old student (his debut offering - another from his forthcoming EP, ‘Hold On’, received 1000 Youtube hits in less than 24 hours) and if this is anything to go by, he has a bright future ahead. Shades of 'nu-folk' in a Stornoway/Ben Howard style - not to mention some rather nice bridges and settings in the video accompaniment, which you can view below.
"I got started writing solo music due to the frustrations of being in a band. It's refreshing to have creative control and no constraints, so to speak," says Chris. "It's easier to just sit down and write music as opposed to having to organise a band practise and having to do it there. I feel this way I've been able to write with greater freedom, and with more honesty."
Still to make his live debut, look out for him around December/early New Year at a venue near you.
