KHUSHI Announces 'Phantoms' Debut EP
K H U S H I has announced the release of his debut EP, ‘Phantoms’, which will be available on download and 10” vinyl through Laissez Faire Club on March 3. The Londoner has also been confirmed to support London Grammar on their upcoming headline tour, following a sold out launch show late last year and radio plays across Huw Stephens, Phil & Alice and John Kennedy.
In support of the EP release, K H U S H I will also play London’s Electrowerkz on March 6.
2013 saw K H U S H I cement a sound as idiosyncratic as his stage name (his childhood nickname): October’s ‘Magpie’ and B-side ‘Never Never’ portrayed a collection of beautifully constructed, evocative and intimately captivating melodies. Quietly momentous lead track, ‘Phantoms’ is no exception. A collaborative effort by Charlie Andrews (Alt J, Marika Hackman, Sivu), Peter Lyons and K H U S H I himself, ‘Phantoms’ marries his disarming honesty and yearning lyrics.
A born and bred Londoner who spends his days caring for the blind, KHUSHI’s luck began to change when he quietly uploaded a few demo tracks online. He’s since supported Laura Muvla, Dan Croll and Foxes, as well as festival appearances at last years Great Escape, In The Woods and Wilderness.
