Sivu Premieres New Track 'Can't Stop Now'
The new single from the fast-rising Sivu was premiered on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show last night and follows a busy end to 2013 for Sivu (supporting London Grammar, a sell-out Lexington date and UK tour, as well as the Hype-Machine-topping collaboration with Marika Hackman, ‘I Hold’).
‘Can’t Stop Now’ will be released on March 24 thru Atlantic Records. Check out the track below.
Sivu is also among the first wave of acts confirmed for SXSW Festival and will announce further live and remix plans for ‘Can’t Stop Now’ shortly.
His latest release comes almost a year to the day after his acclaimed debut track (the MRI-machine video for ‘Better Man Than He’) began to transform the fortunes of then-call-centre-worker James Page. Produced by longstanding collaborator Charlie Andrew (Alt-J), ‘Can’t Stop Now’ offers further evidence for never giving up. Lyrically, the track takes its turn from the time James spent playing guitar in other bands: it’s an urgent appeal to follow your gut against the ticking clock, seemingly as inspired by the rhythmic drive of Bombay Bicycle Club as the left-field pop of Sivu’s hero, Beck - another solo artist with ambitions beyond the solitary ‘singer-songwriter’ tag.
Sivu is currently finishing up his debut album, which will be released via Atlantic Records later this year.
