One To Watch :: Made Violent
Made Violent made their debut last month with 'Wasted Days' - and not ones to waste time, less than a month later have produced another one out of the bag in the form of 'Inside Out' which is released next week - and to be followed by a third in March.
So, who is this prodigious bunch? Well, they are a rock n roll, with a touch of post-punk about them, three-piece who hail from Buffalo, New York. Formed three years ago, they have made live inroads touring with the likes of The Dangerous Summer and Cute Is What We Aim For, and gaining a small, but fierce buzz, with their fuzzy vocals, heavy bass lines, and hard hitting drums that bring to mind the likes of The Strokes or The Black Keys.
'Wasted Days' they describe as 'an anthem of youthful decadence and an ode to never growing up', and with its fast-paced percussion hits and distorted slacker rock vocals, it could well be early Strokes; while follow-up 'Inside Out' shows that "Rock 'n' roll isn't dead, it's just forgotten. We are here to remind you exactly what it is", with grunge-esque riffs and stacatto vocals.
Judging by these first two offerings from Made Violent, it shouldn't be long before they are picked up by the blogosphere. And surely a UK visit must be on the cards for later this year?
Made Violent play the following upcoming live dates:
Feb. 21st with Bear Hands at The Waiting Room, Buffalo, NY
Feb. 22nd with Microfossils and Seaside Caves at Asbury Park Yacht Club, New Jersey
Feb. 26th with White Lies at Town Ballroom, Buffalo, NY
