It's been barely six months since New York poppers Skaters brought their sun-bleached and scuzzy surf-pop to our shore, but the end of February sees the band return once again to inject the arse-end of a bleak English winter with some much needed pseudo-sunshine.
With their debut album 'Manhattan' looming on the horizon (released on February 24 via Warner Bros Records) - recorded with John Hill at Electric Lady Studios - the band seem eager to continue New York's hip indie heritage. Their singles, odes to the gritty and glamorous underbelly of the city from which they come, have earned the band much critical acclaim, leading to a flurry of anticipation surrounding the forthcoming album.
As such, it seems that the intimate venues the trio - Michael Cummings, Noah Rubin and Joshua Hubbard - will be gracing this time around may well be the last in such modest surroundings as the band's popularity mounts. And with their live performances oozing New York cool, it seems stupid not to check the band out live before they get any bigger.
