First Listen :: Shiva And The Hazards
Ex-Melbourners, now now based in London, Shiva and the Hazards got together in late 2012, before the band's Doug Hind and Leigh Baines decided to bring the band over from Australia to the UK last summer, where they were later joined by Ashley Davis (keys), Ruari Meehan (lead guitar) and Paul Jarvis (bass) to complete the line-up.
Check out the reverb-drenched psychedelia of their forthcoming debut single, 'East India Empress' below. The track was produced by Chris Potter (The Verve, Blur, Elbow, Richard Ashcroft), who has said of the band: "[They] are a fantastic mixture of styles - psychedelia and crashing rock and roll and they have some fascinating influences. They also have the rare ability to be able to make things happen spontaneously, without needing to have everything mapped out beforehand – there is no safety-net here…As a result, these songs are full of real dynamic and great rushes of energy."
Shiva And The Hazards play the following live dates over the next few months:
March 21. Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, London - Industry Showcase
March 28. Purple Turtle, Camden
