The Brighton four-piece have been around for just over a year, and with this latest single 'Chasing the Feeling' - out on April 23 thru Stray Cat Records - they could have just picked the 'one' to push them up the league.
Produced by Huey Morgan of Fun Lovin Criminals, the title comes from an experience that vocalist/guitarist and the track's writer, recalls: “We were by the Stone Circle at Glastonbury one year, and it got to about eight in the morning after a heavy night and my brother was still in search of something to keep the party going, and I just called out to him to give it a rest…'You’re just chasing the feeling'.”
What that led to was a smooth little indie groove, that is bolstered by guest rap vocals courtesy of Titus Taylor - a curious combination, but one that complements each other surprisingly well.
Phantom Runners are in the middle of a run of dates, playing the last of which on Saturday in Oxford, followed by various festival dates over the summer.
