Track Of The Day :: Canopies - Getting Older

We first featured the Milwaukee five-piece here in one of our weekly hot top ten round-ups in March (a national weekly music rag following in our wake a whole month later), with 'Miss You Now', the first release from the psych synth-pop band in three years.

Not wasting any time, Canopies are back with a new single, 'Getting Older'. Not only do they address that physical state that befalls us all, but their sound has now captured mire than just a essence of something that could have been heard on the wireless or down the local coffee bar in the formative years of many, back in the 60s. Less of the psych than on previous works, more of the pop, sweet harmonies, and jangly synth and samplers. A glorious musical driftback for all those 'getting older'.
