Track Of The Day :: UNKNWN - BBY

Just when you might have been feeling so submerged under a welter of electronic music that you'd almost welcome hearing One Direction, along come UNKNWN.

The partnership of Dublin producer/singer Gemma Dunleavy and Belfast beatmaker Chris Hanna (formerly known as, would you believe...Unknown) release the sultry, innovative electro pop track 'BBY' as the first offering  from the double A-sided 'Devil'/'BBY' EP, on June 30 via Champion Sound Music in a limited run of 300 onto high quality 140g 12" blue vinyl.

The Irish duo, who performed earlier this year at SXSW in Texas and at The Great Escape festival in Brighton, have created what is perhaps one of the best tracks of its genre likely to be heard all year. Surpassing their offering  ‘I Cry’, 'BBY' is just shy of five minutes-worth of glitchy beats, layered, distant ghostlike vocals that are transfixingly compelling, ambient electronics/percussion, and Gemma's seductive voice that, if in the last 34 seconds of, hasn't brought you to orgasm point - call a doctor.
