Track Of The Day :: Garden - Blind Viper
Garden are a new formation that have sprung from the indie loins of several other well-known Birmingham bands: Luke Morgan (Heavy Waves), Aaron Singh (Wide Eyed), Jordan Crawford and Thom Leathen (Bad Moon), and joined by fellow cohort Paddy - all of whom have featured here on Little Indie more than once, so it was more or less a given that anything this new outfit would appeal equally, which it does.
On listening to their debut track 'Blind Viper' - produced by another stalwart of the West Midlands music scene, Ryan Pinson - it is not hard to gauge their anticedence simply from the sound and style. Doom-heavy riffs that run alongside a slipstream of grunge/psych, throwing up vocals which veer from the rather sensually sleazy to an out-and-out howling roar, then to top it off a few guitar solos that would not sound out of place on a 70s prog rock track.
Catch Garden on July 19 when they open for Milk Teeth at TALK, Birmingham, in what will be just their second live show.
