One To Watch :: Neon Waltz
With just two tracks online and together for just a year, considering that new six-piece Neon Waltz hail from the distant reaches of Wick in Caithness - which is the Scottish Highlands - they have still managed to get themselves talked about as being "one of the most exciting bands in Scotland" - though the latter is fast on course to becoming "in the UK".
Now signed to Ignition, the same management that handles Noel Gallagher as well as the fast-rising Blackpool band Darlia, Neon Waltz have been airing their sounds at a host of festivals this year, from Brighton's Great Escape in May to Tramlines and performing at Y Not festival tomorrow (August 2); and across radio airwaves via Zane Lowe and Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1 amongst others.
Playing an evocative blend psychedelic atmospherics, new track 'Bare Wood Aisles' opens with that shimmery kind of guitar sound that instantly and easily proves a draw; with fluid drums and harmonies underpinning the vocals of Jordan Shearer.
