Track Of The Day :: Moon Holiday - Rid U

Sydney's Moon Holiday - aka Alexandra Ward - released her debut EP way back in 2011, and whilst since then she has worked with producer Flume on the track 'Insane', Karen O in Vivid Festival's 'Stop The Virgens' and Icelandic trio Samaris during visit to Iceland, she has not perhaps achieved the kind of recognition in the UK as she should have.

Now with the release of 'Rid U', the electronic producer may redress that. An icy, dark work with touches of house and R&B where echoing vocals are looped in layers over glitchy beats, to create an effect that is both distant, yet compelling. She has described the track in interview as being written "from a recurring question I had in my head: 'At what point does lust become devotion, and at what point is an emotion an obsession?' The song does have that duality to it, where lust and beauty become ugliness and mania."

'Rid U' is taken from the upcoming 'Second Life' EP.
