Track Of The Day :: Eternal Death - Fade
Swedish duo Eternal Death - Elin Berlin and Johan AngergĂ„rd - have turned out something quite eloquently rich in this follow-up single to ‘Bullet’.
Less jarring perhaps than the aforementioned 'Bullet' - although one has to also remember their arrival last year with the four-minute video, 'Eternal Death', which consisted of nothing more than complete silence and darkness. You don't get more laid-back than that - and 'Head', the Human League-esque track from the start of the year but still with Berlin’s icy cool vocals cutting into the layers of synths and tom toms.
Says Berlin: "This time it is different. The deafening noises have subsided; the dark clouds have eased and settled like a heavy fog. 'Fade' has that same mysterious, anxious feel like our previous songs, but it’s more burdensome and subtle. It is a song that gropes in darkness and burst into the light, like haze in a dim forest. A given soundtrack for a cold winters day.”
'Fade' is released on September 30 via Labrador Records.
