Track Of The Day :: Fickle Friends - For You
The Brighton pop nu-wavers Fickle Friends we first introduced here back in January (all shimmering synths and lush guitar lines) now return with their new single 'For You', which came out this Monday (23rd in US) via Crazy Heart Records.
After nailing the upbeat pop number with debut single 'Swim', 'For You' is even more glossy and sleek, crammed effervescent rhythms, pop hooks and 80s inspired synths - which all rather belie its rather melancholic lyrical inspiration.
"'For You' is about realising a relationship isn't ever going to go anywhere, despite how sad it feels and how much you really want it to work," explains vocalist Natti Shiner, who wrote the track earlier this year.
