Nadine Shah Returns With New Single - 'Stealing Cars'
It's been a while since we heard from the London-based, ex-Tynesider of Norwegian and Pakistani parentage, that is the exquisite Nadine Shah.
Things may have been fairly low key on the surface following her ‘Love Your Dum And Mad’ debut album of last year and UK/Europe tour later that autumn, but now she is back with a brand new single - and it's a bit of an ear-grabber.
'Stealing Cars' - available now on iTunes - was recorded at The Pool in London with Peter Jobson (I Am Kloot bassist), Nick Webb (guitar) and producer Ben Hillier (Doves, Blur, Depeche Mode, The Horrors etc.) - who also serves as Nadine's drummer.
Always dark, intense and personal lyrically, with a smoky rich vocal, here she further incorporates a shimmer of percussion loops, heady guitars and piano notes to make something that is both a departure from much of her previous work, as well as a welcome hors d'oeuvre to her new album coming early next year.
