November 14 2014 - Hot Top Ten
ZIBRA - HEARTACHE
Compulsive electro rock from new London-based four-piece. Catch them live with Walking On Cars - November 24, Glasgow King Tuts; 25, Manchester Night & Day; 27, London Dingwalls.
MT WOLF - RED
Surely the track of the week which took everyone by surprise. A welcome return for the London dreamfolk quartet after calling it a day last December. Full story here.
MALCOLM MIDDLETON - STORY TIME (RADIO EDIT)
A bedtime story definitely not suitable for children.
DEEPSHADE - SAD SUN
Taken from the debut album, 'Everything Popular Is Wrong', out early next year by the deep rockin three-piece from Wigan. It's nearly seven minutes long too, proving length is sometimes important.
NOMBE - CHANGE OF HEARTS (FT. WINSLOW BRIGHT)
Noah McBeth, the 23-year-old LA-via-Germany artist/producer, debuts his latest track (from EP of same name) under his new moniker, of synth-laden, electronic smoothness, joined by Winslow Bright, vocalist with Sioux Lion.
FOREVER CULT - YASMIN
Double A-Side single (w/'Ocean Ocean Ocean') released last week on Clue Records from the West Yorkshire fiery noise grunge three-piece. Catch them live on November 29 with Allusondrugs + Lyger at The Wardrobe, Leeds.
THE HANGED MAN - THE ISLAND
Swedish artist Rebecka Rolfart follows up 'Into The Night' with another icy cut built around a spiraling guitar, taken from the debut mini-album which came out this week.
BULL IN THE WHISKY SHOP - LION
Taken from the Manchester trio's - who formed this summer - fuzz noise rock debut EP released last month. Catch them live for a hometown date at Night & Day on December 11.
SHY NATURE - BIRTHDAY CLUB
The North London three-piece's title track from the EP released this week on Just Off Pop. Steadily risen up the ranks over the last year, with praise for Will's vocals and jangly guitar sound. Catch them live in December, including The Lexington, London on 4th.
CREAKS - DAYDREAM
Just released single from the Edmonton, Alberta-based dream pop foursome. Melodic, lo-fi airiness with a West Coast feel that slips down the ears a treat (a few little quirky bits too), taken from their new 'Blanket Ghosts' EP.
