Introducing :: Women In Love
Words: Linn Branson
Not anything to do with the DH Lawrence novel (although the artwork loosely conveys a slight nod towards), or a romantic guise of a female band, but Women In Love is the more prosaic project of London-based producer James Hare.
Starting earlier this year a solo venture by Hare in Bethnal Green where he shares a studio with friends, he began to put down a few songs using their accumulated instruments and gear.
'Fall in Love', above, is the first song from what will be a four-track EP that will be digitally released at the end of January on Bandcamp. The second, 'Always The Same', is featured below in a live performance. Both tracks convey a sense of atmospheric uneasiness, coupled with a rather hypnotic fragility and the organic vocals blending seamlessly into the manufactured electronica.
Working with two other musicians / producers, Chris Clark and Will
Brown, Hare aims to create a live set, using real instruments but with some triggers and live looping to free them up on stage to play around more - and hopefully to make their live debut early next year as well.
