Watch :: Randolph's Leap - Weatherman ft. Michael Fish
Randolph’s Leap, the Glasgow-based music project which can range from the solo act of Adam Ross to an eight-piece band, unveil new single 'Weatherman', and what do you know, only Michael Fish himself turns up in the video.
An enduring favourite among Randolph’s Leap fans and, for many, the melancholic highlight of their debut album 'Clumsy Knot' - which was released in April - ‘Weatherman’ is a tale of jealousy and self-delusion bolstered by the Scottish indie-folk group’s trademark use of wit, charm and distorted Casio keyboards.
The band teamed up for a second time with Ben Cowie and Alan Cameron to create the short film for the song. Following a throwaway comment from Ben, a plot transpired to lure national treasure and BBC icon Michael Fish out of retirement for one last job. The star performer was more than willing to be manhandled by band members while playing out his on-screen meltdown in a freezing cold industrial unit in Glasgow.
Randolph's Leap play Edinburgh’s Portobello Town Hall on December 13. Adam Ross supports James Yorkston at Winterville, Spiegeltent in London on December 22.
'Weatherman' is released on January 5 2015 via Lost Map Records.
