Crushed Beaks have released a stream of new track from their upcoming debut album ‘Scatter’, out on February 9 via the band’s own label, Matilda Records.

The south-east London trio have just put out ‘Overgrown’, one of the album highlights. The band deliver a fuzzy pop energy, merging rhythmic hooks with lyrics like, "We all have little secrets we never meant to keep/and I was hoping I would see you then I thought heard you leave..."

Commenting on 'Overgrown', the band's vocalist/guitarist Matt Poile said:

"'Overgrown' was written quickly and although I didn’t think too much about the lyrics at the time, I think they reflect a sense of surging into the future with everything around you happening so fast that you barely have time to take it in. I think a lot of our songs - the ones we keep - have that kind of breakneck feel to them. We won’t keep a song unless it has a certain intensity and feeling of forward momentum, it’s difficult to place exactly."
