New California five-piece from Oakland, Waterstrider, are ready to kickstart the new year with 'White Light', the first official track to be released from their upcoming debut album 'Nowhere Now'.
'White Light', along with ‘Calliope’, is a AA side single to be officially released on January 29. Dominated by the distinctive high range vocal of guitarist Nate Salman, allowing percussion and synthesiser to take a gently precise, but quirky, back stance, with math rock-like guitars interjected into an almost funky groove. The track's misty verses and lyrics which delve into the notion of celebrity (“Lauded for your white light…fearless as a young lion”), play in tandem with its layered uplifting chorus.
