Introducing :: Friendship
Friendship is the name of the solo project under which South Carolina native, now Boston-based, electronic producer Kevin Clayton works.
His latest single 'Light Dance' is a striking electronic, sample-based pop piece, which was released on March 17 via Bandcamp.
The 25-year-old, who started playing guitar when at the age of 15, was studying fine art at college, "but spent
most of that time on music! Recording in logic and experimenting in my room almost all the time. I got to a point were I didn't want to keep all the music to myself."
Drawing on a wide range of influences, from classical and folk to chillwave, Clayton adopted the name Friendship, and put these first two tracks - 'Light Dance' and 'Love Uncertain' - online only a few days ago.
The first, 'Light Dance' is an instrumental track that fuses glitchy electronic beats and samples, gliding in and out of textured sound layers. But it is 'Love Uncertain' with echoing vocals over a lighter electronic melody that is the killer for us.
