Introducing :: The Yetis
About to release the lead cut from their debut EP 'Lonely Tandem Ride', Pennsylvania jangle-surf four-piece The Yetis also have the visuals to their earlier single 'Little Surfer Girl' - which they also directed and edited, and depicts "a day in the life of The Yetis and the story of how we wrote 'Little Surfer Girl'" - out on display.
"We wanted to depict the true story of how we were rehearsing non-surf material for our first New York City show in the dead of winter and then just started to play something beach-y to escape the cold. We actually did smoke pot to give us some creative edge and our hands were really so frozen that we had to warm them up in front of a kerosene heater just so we could play. 'Little Surfer Girl' and the music video are just about making your dreams come true and having fun in the cold even if you wish you were under the warm sun."
The four Yetis (Nick Gillespie - vocals, rhythm guitar; Christian Luengen - lead guitar; Stefan Luengen - bass; Patrick Gillespie - drums), all aged between 16-22, hail from Allentown, Pennsylvania, where they started out covering The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys in a garage attic before moving on to writing their own material.
Check out both the two-and-a-half minute summery surf sound of 'Mysterion' - released on March 31 - above, and 'Little Surfer Girl', below.
