Listen :: Little Death Machine - Pale
London three-piece Little Death Machine, who released new single 'Pale' on Monday (via Glasstone Records), might sound by name as if they're likely to sound in practice as somewhat on the loud metal side. But while they may have taken their name from a metal sculpture by Jake and Dinos Chapman, their mash-up of electronica, rock and dance, lends to less of a destructive ear-bashing.
Now a three-piece - Daniel Cross (guitar, vocals, programming), Jamie Goff (drums) and Jamie Kendall (live visuals, sampling) - the band originally was just a duo of Daniel and drummer Clare Tsangari when they formed in early 2013, releasing debut single, 'Hit Me', in July of the same year.
'Pale' marks the first offering of 2015 from LDM, and follows their December Christmas release, 'Christmas Leaves A Redundant Engagement (War is Over)'.
'Pale' it may be by name, but while Cross's vocals ere to the other-worldly and the use of effects pedals diligently applied, the guitar sounds and electronic components lend to a construction something with far more colour.
Little Death Machine have two upcoming London dates: March 27 at Number 3 in Deptford (single launch), and Hoxton Bar & Kitchen on April 29 supporting Darkness Falls.
