Debut track from new Swedish electronic act The Ghost Of Helags, which will be digitally released next month via Warsaw Recordings.
'242', was recorded in Berlin, and The Ghost - otherwise known as Swede John Alexander Ericson (My Empire Of Sound, Alberta Cross, The Northern Territories) - informs us, has "got nothing to do with the band 242, believe it or not....it's actually about a night bus ride on the 242 bus in East London..." Must have been either a pretty eventful, or downright boring, journey to result in this five minute electronic work that sheds elements of Fever Ray and Portishead en route. Ghostly flourishes intermingle with deft beats and Ericson's accented vocal kicking in around 2:30 punctuates with an hypnotic inflection.
A debut album is in the works and will be released later in the year.
