Liverpool Sound City Announces Final Line-Up
Liverpool Sound City has revealed the final names to play the May festival. Post-punk outfit The Membranes, Warp Records' Lonelady and rising lo-fi pop band Gengahr are some of over 100 new artists announced today. They join already announced The Flaming Lips, The Vaccines, Belle & Sebastian, Fat White Family, Swans, The Cribs, George the Poet, Iceage and more.
The festival has also announced four brand new stages for their new docklands base - The North Stage, The Cavern Stage, The Kraken Stage and The Record Store with hundreds of upcoming signed and unsigned acts across the four.
Sound City CEO Dave Pichilingi, said: “This year’s line-up is the widest it has ever been. We had band and artists applications in the thousands from over 25 different worldwide countries. It demonstrates how in just eight short years Sound City has become the ‘must play’ event for the best new music from around the globe."
New this year is Tim Peaks Diner - hosted by Charlatans' singer Tim Burgess with exclusive appearances from Taffy and Hot Vestry plus DJ sets from Dave Haslam among others.
Sound City has also joined forces with PledgeMusic and Liverpool-based consultants JUXDIT, to offer three new acts to launch their very own Direct-to-Fan campaign and play at the 2015 Sound City festival.
Rebecca Ayres, Sound City COO said: “This is an incredible chance for artists wanting to reach the next level of their careers and looking for funding to make a record, head out on tour or to buy new kit.”
Round one of applications is open now and application forms are available here.
Sound City runs between May 21 - 24.
