Introducing :: Community
Originally from Stoke where four of the five Community members met in secondary school, the now Manchester-based alt rock outfit (formerly known as Voy Eur) have just put out the first set of songs they have recorded.
Drawing on inspirations such as The National, War On Drugs, the Walkmen, to Blur, the Community style has evolved from what each member had brought from previous bands.
Of the three tracks they have online - 'Home Town', 'Silk Flowers', 'Give Way'- 'Home Town' is a big number, just short of five minutes in length and one geared for a big stage to set it off. All three demonstrate thoughtful lyrics, a confident vocal from Charlie Baker, and some ambitious arrangements - listen to 'Silk Flowers'.
Community play the Eagle Inn, Salford on May 15.
Community are: Charles James Baker - vocals, Jake Mcintosh - guitar, Chris Malkin - guitar, Robert Harvey - bass, Calum Forrester O'Neill - drums
