Broken Hands Unveil New Single ‘Meteor’ // Announce London Residency
Words: Rory Wynne
Broken Hands, the Canterbury five-piece, have announced their next onslaught on the ears of the nation will be new single, ‘Meteor’, released on August 7 via SO Recordings.
The band have also announced a three-night residency at London’s Power Lunches venue. All "guaranteed entry' tickets were gone in a matter of hours of announcement; there will, however, be a limited number of free tickets available on the door each night at the Dalston arts space. With the promise of a concept which will see the walls, ceiling, floor (everything!) covered in reflective material to enhance a specially designed light-show to psychedelic levels, you can really start to see why this band are gaining a word-of-mouth buzz about them.
Aside from this impressive visual display though, ‘Meteor’ is not too shoddy itself. Produced by Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, Band of Skulls, Turbowolf), whilst the lyrics may be a little too repetitive for some, the music more than makes up for it. With space-rock-sized riffs, throbbing basslines and a drum beat you have to tap your foot to, it's clear that Broken Hands are a band to keep your eyes on.
