Tibet Announce Debut EP ‘Fridge’ & Cardiff Residency
Words: Rory Wynne
Tibet, a four-piece from Cardiff - who only just formed at the tail end of 2014 - released their first song online in February, 'She Don't Know', and which was enough to impress top radio bods such as XFM's John Kennedy, and Radio 1's Phil Taggart and Huw Stephens.
Now the band - Joel Hurst, Rhys Carey, Tom Rees, Ethan Hurst - have announced their debut EP ‘Fridge’ which will be with us July 17 via Talking Shop Records, with the title track being premiered by Annie Mac on her Radio 1 show last week.
If the rest of the EP is anything like this track, then we’re in for a treat. An explosive mix of energetic chorus along with melodic verses (both of which are lyrically sublime, by the way), ‘Fridge’ is an example of how to write and deliver a pretty great song.
Tibet have been constantly touring throughout the first half of 2015 and have now announced a hometown residency. Catch them while you can.
