Introducing :: Keep Breathing
Words: Kelly Munro
Newcastle indie rock five-piece Keep Breathing are a band who seemingly have sprung from nowhere. Well, okay, they may have been in bands before, but you get the picture. You may not have heard of them yet, but keep breathing - because you surely will.
After forming last year, they first came to wider notice at Evolution Emerging in Newcastle a few months back, they managed to impress sufficiently to get them radar blogged. Now they are about to take that further with their upcoming debut single which ... well, it's something else.
Produced by Ed Buller (Suede, Courteeners, Pulp, White Lies) there
is a definite 80s indie reverb guitar edge here (think Echo And The Bunnymen), but it's wrapped up in a chorus that is big enough to hang Johnny Marr on. And what's more, having heard the rest of the songs that have come out of the Buller sessions, it's safe to say that there is something very special brewing around these guys.
The band have the following live dates confirmed; keep check on their Facebook for more.

25. Tramlines Festival - Sheffield
31. Head Of Steam - Newcastle

08. Fake Festival - Chester-Le-Street
