SAFIA Share Video Clip To 'Embracing Me' - Watch
Words: Linn Branson
Fast becoming one of our favourite bands from Down Under, synthpop trio SAFIA have just released the highly watchable video to new single 'Embracing Me', which came out a couple of weeks ago and featured in our weekly hot ten tracks.
Directed by Jimmy Ennett and written, performed and produced by the Canberra band - Ben Woolner-Kirkham, Michael Bell, Harry Sayers - the clip, set in an Amish-like community, where young live is blossoming between the two main characters, and seemingly against the wishes of the sect's preacherman, who apoears none too pleased.
This follow-up to 'Counting Sheep' blends Woolner-Kirkham's gorgeously rich and warming vocals, with a smooth wave of synth and vibrant beats with soulful ambience.
The band have already been over to the US recently to play some live dates; we really need them UK bound next! In the meantime, only those in Australia will have the chance to catch them live - though you had better move fast as they seem to be selling out rapidly - when the guys head out on tour throughout August/September. Check out the dates below the video.
