Track Of The Day :: Blood Sound - Popular Girls
Words: Linn Branson
Blood Sound, as we have said before (see here), are all about synths - a helluva lot of synths; if synths are not your thing, cast your ears away now, for there are more coming your way.
Following their self-released debut album 'Nightclub' back in January (which was highly rated by Little Indie - we love synths! Check it out here), the Philadelphia three - Chris Jordan - vocals, drum machine, synths; Tristan McKeever - bass, synths; Vincent Tkac - guitar, synths - have already got another in the can and ready to drop before the month is out. The date is still to be confirmed, but the title we can tell you is 'Too Much Sun and Not Enough Gloom at the Beach'.
As a taster, they have aired 'Popular Girls', which you can stream below. Kicking off on drum machine and those strident, ever-present synths, Jordan's vocal dips in and out of the gurgling electronics to add a woozy depth to its two-minute-plus duration. Synthly supreme.
Check out their upcoming Philly dates below:
July
11. Sounds Like Summer, PhilaMOCA
31. The Fire
August
07. Orlieb's Lounge
20. Kung Fu Necktie
