Introducing :: East End Lovers
Words: Alison Mack
We have to admit that we're not too sure who these guys are, or come to that, whether this track is gloriously lovable or gloriously irritating. Suffice to say, the video made us grin and either way, East End Lovers have caught our attention either way, which is probably the point.
'Dannyboy' is the debut single - which was released on August 1 - from the Whitechapel outfit, who describe themselves as "a group of East London kids playing chirpy indie pop", and whose list of diverse influences range from Frank Sinatra to Ratboy (we can certainly detect a smidgen of the latter - a glam version of, at least - if not exactly the former...).
Check out the video for 'Dannyboy' below. Two more demo tracks, 'She Was A Lady' and 'Knees Up Mother Brown', can be found on Soundcloud.
East End Lovers are: Doberman Beagle - vocals/bass, Zachary Skinner - guitar/vocals, Zachary Greenslade - guitar/vocals, Oliver Short - tambourine, Ivan PL - drums
