Rising up from New Zealand's Christchurch, 24-year-old aspiring newcomer Chris William has today, August 20, released his debut single, 'Not The Same', which we are pleased to premiere.
With a musical style reflecting his interest in hip hop, folk and electronic pop, the bass-playing singer, in his own words, "disappeared into his bedroom long ago, and just reappeared, armed with a song to release into the wild." The result of which is 'Not The Same', a track that lyrically explores "acknowledging the past without being held its captive", while William has incorporated processed melodica, bass, sampled drums and vocal harmonies to create a mellow, engaging first offering.
'Not The Same' is the first single from William's debut EP, due for release in 2016.
