Small Black received our esteemed Track Of The Day accolade here a few weeks ago with 'Boys Life', the first track from their upcoming album 'Best Blues'.
Now the Brooklyn synthpop outfit have dropped a second taster, 'No One Wants It To Happen To You', and we have to yet again give it the prize of today's best track. Filled with four minutes of dreamily smooth vocals and disorted synth shapes that slot in and around reverb strains, a drum machine beat, and capture the essence of what vocalist Josh Kolenik explains the song reflects.
"[It] was meant as a mantra. Something an older, wiser friend told you once that you might cling to in order to get through a terrible situation. The phrase you keep folded up in your pocket, letting you know better will surely come.”
