Words: Linn Branson
We featured the quite stupendous debut single from London duo Tweaks, 'Sisters'
here earlier this month.
The track builds over four minutes on sweeping drums and synths, hymn-like, to an other-worldly climax with nods along the way to the 90s trip hop
of Portishead and DJ Shadow. Throw in some twinkling keys and some breathing (listen from 2:33 in), and you have a perfectly formed debut.
Now the duo - Aman Singh and Johnny Drain - have just revealed the Jacob Hopewell-directed video for the song. And it is as stark and visually intriguing as you would expect from wordsmiths' who can combine "cashmere quilt" with "Catholic guilt".
