There's hardly a week goes by when Little Indie is not blown away by something working its way over to us from Australia. Not least in their ability to garner a wealth of teenage talent: Lupa J, Glades and Lastlings are just three that spring to mind with ages between 15 - 18 years old.
We couldn't let this year end without therefore bringing you singer/songwriter Teischa Jones. At just 18, this Perth songstress (who also plays guitar and keyboards) is sounding very much like the real deal. Aside from covering Matt Corby, listen to her spine-tingling cover of Lorde's 'Tennis Court' from early 2014. Even while that is strong, the development in her voice in the space of 18 months is quite remarkable, as you can compare on her own 'Couldn't Care Less' (her follow-up to debut single ‘Trick Of The Light’), below, recorded live in session last month.
With an EP set for next year (recorded with Eskimo Joe's Joel Quartermain), Teischa's fusion of alt-soul vocals with R&B, is something we can't wait to hear more of.
