Singer Pat Hynes says: “’Tear’ is a great example of two of the central themes of the album – darkness vs. light and hope. From the new album 'Thought Rock Fish Scale', out February 5 via Paradise of Bachelors, the Canadian quartet's frontman Nigel Chapman describes this track as: "about theory of mind. You are trying to understand why you didn’t get your way. Imagining what the other person was thinking, did you get past your initial doubt to remember that other people have their own minds, different from yours?” The album was recorded live to tape, with no overdubs, on the North Shore of Nova Scotia.
