[Video] Lush - Out Of Control
Nineties alt-pop/shoegaze band Lush - who broke up after drummer Chris Acland committed suicide in 1996 - announced late last year that they were reuniting this year to play shows in London - Roundhouse on May 6 - and Manchester, as well as a full North American tour (their first live appearances in 20 years) through April - May and September.
They have also revealed new material, with an EP, 'Blind Spot', recorded with Jim Abbiss and Ladytron's Daniel Hunt, released on April 22 via the band's own Edamame label.
Featuring four new songs - 'Out Of Control', 'Lost Boy', 'Burnham Beaches' and 'Rosebud' - you can hear the first of these above in the video directed by Martin Masai Andersen and Kim Thue.
The track received its radio premiere earlier today (February 19) on Steve Lamacq's BBC 6Music show.
Miki Berenyi says:
"It certainly took some time to set up, but once we were in the studio, everything came together incredibly quickly. It was great fun! It's been a long time since I've written Lush lyrics, and I realised early on with this EP that what I wrote about then is not what I feel comfortable writing about now. My perspective, and what is close to my heart, has changed, and I think that's conveyed in the songs."
