Premiered earlier on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show, 'Coda' is the second single from Danish experimental pop chanteuse KIll J's debut EP, ‘Quasi', set for release tomorrow, March 11.
Prior to her upcoming live debut at SXSW festival in Texas next week, 'Coda' once again highlights the Copenhagen-based singer / songwriter's remarkable vocal acrobatics, quivering over rippling beats.
KIll J - aka Julie Aagaard - describes the song as “about taking power back. I chose the title because it is a musical term which describes a passage that brings the piece to the end - an after play or finale. You always know what you should have said after it’s over and too late – ‘Coda’ is my way of getting the last word.”
