The Sherlocks have one 'Last Night' before heading to SXSW
Words: Conran McMullan
Hot off their recent UK tour, Sheffield's fast-rising alt-indie four-piece The Sherlocks have seen new single ‘Last Night’ - released last Friday - playlisted by Radio 1, before they embark on a trip to the US with an appearance at SXSW festival in Texas.
The band - who comprise two sets of brothers: Kiaran (vocals / guitar) and Brandon (drums) Crook, and Josh (guitar) and Andy (bass) Davidson - have quickly gained a cult-like following since forming in 2010, selling out over 300 venues as well as supporting Simple Minds, The Enemy, The Buzzcocks and more.
Taking influence from artists including The Beatles and Oasis, ‘Last Night’, however, draws on the 70s rock of The Jam mixed with the Alex Turner 00’s dragging guitar lines.
The band line up several early spring festival dates before a headline home gig at the Leadmill, Sheffield, on June 3.
