Track Of The Day :: Eagulls - Skipping
Words: Ellie Ward
With their second album 'Ullages' due on May 13 through Partisan Records, Eagulls share a third track from the record. After 'Lemontrees' and 'My Life In Rewind', now comes the even more amazing sound of 'Skipping'.
The Leeds post-punks lead through a four-minute-plus of textured pounding bass line, heavy drums and George Mitchell's enigmatic vocals the band create an anthemic wall of sound: “‘Cause all I ever wanted was an answer/But all I ever got was this broken record skipping.”
Eagulls have also announced a New York record release show for 'Ullages' on May 9 at Brooklyn's Rough Trade in addition to live UK and European dates, as below.
