Track Of The Day :: Casper Skulls - Mink Coats
Words: Sam Geary
With their debut EP coming later in the year - produced by Josh Korody of Beliefs and Shehzaad Jiwani of Greys - Canadian post-punk four-piece Casper Skulls make their recording debut with this single, the infectiously good 'Mink Coats', out through Buzz Records.
Melding some rhythmic shoegaze fuzz with big hooks and sharp incisive lyrics which vocalist Neil Bednis delivers with a weary resignation as he sings “and the city’s such a mess” in the politically charged lines that dig at "ludicrous power-hungry politicians. As long as politics exist, so will corruption and lies."
Catch the Toronto-based band on tour in Canada next month.
