Watch :: Glue take a trip through East London's 'Badlands'

Back in the early Seventies, the BBC followed David Bowie around Los Angeles for a documentary, Cracked Actor,  on the man and his music. In one scene we see the Starman cutting up a load of random, unconnected words, and then piecing them together to form a song in his often used ‘cut-up’ writing method as used by postmodernist author William S. Burroughs in his novel Naked Lunch.

I mention that here only a reference to this third single by West Ham alt-grunge-rock band Glue. Taken from their forthcoming debut EP 'Balloon' (due out in May), 'Badlands' - "about finding solace in love and existing happily on the periphery of prescription while escaping stress and regrets" - feels rather like they have possibly employed the same method of construction. Either way, it's rather engaging, built on a vibrant spirit that you'll be wanting to sing along to.
