Will Radiohead be 'burning the witch' tomorrow?

Words: Alison Mack

So, Radiohead fans have apparently been receiving mysterious messages that could be related to the band's upcoming ninth album.

'Burn The Witch' postcards sent via the mail, bearing the Radiohead logo and the text “Sing a song of sixpence that goes/ Burn the Witch/ We know where you live”, have created anticipation that it may relate to an imminent release.

'Burn The Witch' is an unreleased Radiohead song that has been known about for 14 years when the name cropped up on artwork associated with 'Hail To The Thief', a 2003 released album.

Radiohead embark on a world tour in just a few weeks, and with media interest already at a peak, the mysterious leaflets sent out in the UK, have added fuel to the fire.

It has also been worked out, that according to Germanic folklore, Walpurgisnacht - “Witches’ Night” - falls on the night of April 30/May 1. And add to that that Radiohead have formed two companies, Dawn Chorus LLP and Dawnchoruss LTD, and International Dawn Chorus Day is held on the first Sunday in May, which is May 1 this year - tomorrow - well, either something is coming in the next 24 hours...or this is all one big conspiracy.
