Listen :: Colouring - In Motion
Words: Sam Geary
Jack Kenworthy is a bit of a boomerang muso: he comes, goes, comes back again, goes again, and returns once more. He deserves a mention just for the way he continues rise up under different names.
The former Osca frontman of 2014 who had hits with 'Blood' and 'Illume' - who had previously been known as Kenworthy - is now back again as Colouring - and with what looks like his old Osca pals - bassist Dom Potts, guitarist Sean Reilly, and drummer Alex Johnson - so this is more a case of a name change and re-branding than a new virgin outfit.
Suffice to say, London-based Colouring has debuted this first single, 'In Motion', released last week via Interscope, which has already won the ears of BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens.
Drawing upon his childhood influences that range from underground electronic music to pop, songwriter Kenworthy combines propulsive rhythms with moody atmospherics to create celestial yet driving songs.
